If you shoot or hunt with a rangefinder, the Sightlok RF-1 is a tool which helps you range and shoot faster and more accurately.
The Sightlok RF-1 is a patent-pending universal rangefinder mount for rifles and crossbows. Azimuth/Windage and Elevation Adjustments enable you to co-align/co-witness your laser range finder with your rifle scope.
Once aligned, the need to separately deploy and aim the rangefinder to range the target is eliminated. Place the scope crosshairs over the target and press the range button, and the step of ranging the target is done.
Benefits include:
– Faster ranging
– More accurate ranging due to better optics and greater stability
– Better view of ranged targets using scope optics
– Scope and rangefinder operate as a single-unit
– Fast view switching between rangefinder & scope
– Faster firing solutions
– Fewer missed shot opportunities
– Increased first round hit potential
The Sightlok RF-1 is designed and made in the U.S.A. from aerospace grade aluminum alloy with MIL-A-8625 spec Type III anodized hard coat finished in matt black.
The Sightlok RF-1 features 4 quick hand tightened thumbscrews that provides consistent and secure mounting of laser range finders.
Non-slip rubber on the clamp surfaces ensures that the rangefinder is held securely but not scratched by the clamp.
Four adjustable clamps enable the rangefinder point-of-aim to be precisely adjusted to match the point-of-aim of the scope.
The Sightlok RF-1 mounts securely to any Picatinny (MIL-STD 1913) or Weaver rail.
The benefit of co-witnessing scopes with rangefinders has been proven by the U.S. military, which often employs co-aligned/co-witnessed electro-optics and sensors.
The most recent example of this is the military’s Next Generation Squad Weapon from Vortex®, the NGSW-FC XM157, which includes a variable magnification optic, backup etched reticle, laser rangefinder, ballistic calculator, atmospheric sensor suite, compass, wireless, visible and infrared aiming lasers, and a digital display overlay. The purpose of NGSW-FC to increase the first round hit potential by combining a traditional glass optic with a laser range finder and ballistic computer.
Now, civilians can match key features of the military’s NGSW-FC by combining the Sightlok RF-1 with one of the Sig Sauer line of BDX scopes and range finders, including a co-witnessed scope and rangefinder, ballistic calculator, atmospheric sensor suite, compass, and other smart features.
The Sightlok RF-1 can accommodate any rangefinder with a width of 1.14″ (28.8mm) to 1.58″ (40.2mm). (See list of compatible rangefinders below).
With the exception of the KILO4K and the binocular-format rangefinders, all of the Sig Sauer BDX rangefinders fit the Sightlok RF-1, including the KILO1000BDX, KILO1400BDX, KILO1600BDX, KILO2200BDX, KILO2400BDX, KILO Canyon, KILO1600, KILO3K, KILO5K, KILO8K-ABS, and BUCKMASTERS 1500. A complete list of compatible laser rangefinders is listed below.
The goal of the Sightlok RF-1 is to mount the rangefinder as close to the occular lens of the scope as possible such that the shooter can effortlessly switch between the two. To accomplish this, the placement of the Sightlok RF-1 can be adjusted in all 3 dimensions: height, length, and horizontal distance from Picatinny/Weaver rail.
Rangefinder height adjustment (choose between 3 rails): 1.24″ (31.6mm)
Length adjustment: (sliding variable length as measured from from the front of the rail clamp to the back of the rangefinder holder) 4.3″ (10.9cm) to 6.5″ (16.5cm)
Horizontal distance from Picatinny/Weaver rail adjustment (3 different-length options are included):
Small: 1.38″ (3.5cm)
Medium: 1.62″ (4.1cm)
Large: 1.94″ (4.9cm)
Having variable options for horizontal distance from the Picatinny/Weaver rail ensures that the rangefinder laser can clear windage/brightness/focus knobs/focus rings on the scope.
The Sightlok RF-1 can position the rangefinder on either the left or right side of the scope. It needs just 0.25″ (6.5mm) of clearance between the top of the rail and the bottom of the scope to mount under the scope. It can also be flipped and mounted to the rail under the scope occular if other mount points are obstructed.

Description
FAQ: Q: How can I accurately align the rangefinder with the crosshairs on my scope? A: There are 3 ways to accomplish this: 1. Simple method Point scope crosshairs at a target at the approximate distance you intend to shoot. Stabilize shooting platform so the scope doesn’t move. Use the windage and elevation knobs on the mount to point the rangefinder reticle at the same aiming point as the scope reticle. Re-verify scope reticle has not moved from the target. Verify rangefinder reticle matches aiming point of scope. For extra accuracy, measure the distance between center of scope occular lens and the center of rangefinder occular lens, and maintain rangefinder point-of-aim parallel to scope crosshairs to prevent point-of-aim divergence over large distances. 2. More accurate method A more accurate method is to have a target at the approximate distance you intend to shoot, where you have a much longer distance behind the target to use as a contrast. Point scope at the edge of the target. Adjust rangefinder so that it detects the point at which aiming point goes off the edge of the target both horizontally and vertically. Fire rangefinder while moving off the edge of the target. The rangefinder should be aligned so that it switches to displaying the much longer distance behind the target just as scope crosshairs move off the edge of the target. Again, for extra accuracy, measure the distance between center of scope occular lens and the center of rangefinder occular lens, and maintain rangefinder point-of-aim parallel to scope crosshairs to prevent point-of-aim divergence over large distances. 3. Most accurate method – requires digital night vision clip-on like a PARD NV007 Third method is to use a clip-on digital night vision scope like a PARD NV007 or the cheaper “DIY” Night Vision scopes priced around $100. Digital night vision shows the infrared spectrum used by the rangefinder, so the laser from the rangefinder becomes visible flashing on the target. This makes windage and elevation adjustment for the rangefinder easy and precise. Again, for extra accuracy, measure the distance between center of scope occular lens and the center of rangefinder occular lens, and maintain rangefinder point-of-aim parallel to scope crosshairs to prevent point-of-aim divergence over large distances. As a former USMC sniper, I have some expertise with mounts that co-witness various sensors. I heard about this from a friend on Snipershide. After testing it on various rifles I am impressed. It can be adjusted to fit nearly any scope / rail / rifle combination. This tool really does raise the effectiveness of your shooting platform. The RF-1 has me ranging and sending rounds downrange faster. Most long range shooters could benefit from owning one.
Mounted this on an AR-308 long range rifle with a Sig Sauer 6BDX riflescope. Able to range targets now without ever looking though the rangefinder. One concern I had was whether it would be able to securely hold the rangefinder in the same place. Whether or not the rangefinder would “hold zero.” Obviously if you smash your rangefinder with a rock or a hammer, it’s going to move around and probably not going to work anymore. But short of impacts like this the grippy rubber on both the clamp holds the rangefinder securely without crushing or scratching it. The mounted rangefinder is properly holding zero and remaining co-aligned with the scope. Would definitely buy this again and everyone that’s seen it at the range wants one too.
This is a good piece of kit. Does what it says on the tin. One complaint I have is receiving it took 3 weeks because it was on backorder. Wish they would make a greater effort to keep these in stock. But like others have said this is a game-changer and I don’t know why it’s taken so long for someone to invent something like this. I’m a big game hunter and when you’re hunting every second counts. I can’t count how many shot opportunities I’ve missed because I couldn’t shoot fast enough. This cuts the amount of time it takes after spotting the target to taking an ethical shot by maybe 1/3 to a half. I’d say buy it if you’re a big game hunter.
I received one of early engineering samples which I offered to test in exchange for feedback. The bolt that came with it was a little too large for my weaver rail. The company immediately sent out a different nut and bolt that fixed the problem. Rest easy if you have a weaver rail as the problem is fixed on the newer units. Great customer service.
I love this
Good quality.
