The Sightlok RF-1 is a Picatinny / Weaver rail mount for standard handheld rangefinders. It will convert most rangefinders into a weapon-mounted laser rangefinder (WMLRF).
IMPORTANT NOTE:
To keep prices for the base RF-1 mount low, mounting accessories are sold separately.
Mounting accessories for the Sightlok RF-1 can be found here.
Most will wish to purchase the Standard Adjustable Length Picatinny Mount along with the Diamond Knurled Steel Thumb Nut & Picatinny Lock.
Other mounting options include the Ultralite Picatinny Mount and the 90° Picatinny Offset Rail Mount.
All picatinny clamps require the Diamond Knurled Steel Thumb Nut & Picatinny Lock to be complete clamps.
KEY BENEFITS:
– Rangefinder can be co-witnessed (aligned) with the scope
– Rubber mounts increase rangefinder durability vs. rifle recoil
– Mount is solid and will “hold zero.”
ADVANTAGES VS. DEDICATED WMLRF:
– Lower cost
– Superior ranging performance & functionality
(Premium handheld rangefinders like the Sig Sauer KILO5K offer longer ranging, a better ballistic engine, and integration with the Kestrel wind meters for real-time windage calculations, at a fraction of the price of most dedicated weapon-mounted laser rangefinders).
– Eliminates the need for a scope ring replacement / diving board mount
– More flexible mounting options
– Eliminates the problem of illumination from the rangefinder display shining on the shooters face, which can reveal the shooter’s position during night-time engagements
– Enables more fully integrated electro-optic systems such as the Sig Sauer BDX rangefinder/scope system which automatically calculate the firing solution and display a holdover point in the scope reticle, eliminating the need to dial the scope’s elevation turret.
ADVANTAGES VS. HAND-HELD RANGEFINDING:
– Faster ranging
– More accurate ranging due to better optics and greater stability
– Better view of ranged targets using scope optics
– Scope and rangefinder operate as a single-unit
– Fast view switching between rangefinder & scope
– Faster firing solutions
– Fewer missed shot opportunities
– Increased first round hit potential
RANGEFINDER COMPATIBILITY:
Mount accommodates rangefinders with widths ranging from 1.14″ (28.8mm) to 1.58″ (40.2mm).
MATERIALS:
The Sightlok RF-1 is designed in the U.S.A. and manufactured in T6-6061 aluminum alloy with Military Specification (MIL-A-8625F) Type III, Class II Hard Coat finished in matte black. Non-slip 3M rubber on clamp surfaces hold rangefinder securely and help protect the rangefinder from recoil.
MOUNT REQUIREMENTS:
With optional mounting hardware the Sightlok RF-1 can mount or QD clamp securely to any Picatinny (MIL-STD 1913) or Weaver rail.
Top-mounts (mounting above the riflescope) require a 17S clamp available from 3rd parties including Magpul, RRS, Area419, and Leofoto. There are mounting points at the front, middle and back of the RF-1 for a standard 17S clamp. The holes are spaced 1.1″ apart which is the standard for 17S clamps, and threaded for M5 screws.
AZIMUTH/WINDAGE AND ELEVATION ADJUSTMENT:
The Sightlok RF-1 features 4 quick thumbscrews which shift the alignment of the rangefinder within the mount. These enable the rangefinder point-of-aim to be precisely adjusted to match the point-of-aim of the scope.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
The goal of the Sightlok RF-1 is to mount the rangefinder as close to the occular lens of the scope as possible such that the shooter can effortlessly switch between the two. To accomplish this, the optional Standard Adjustable Length Picatinny Clamp allows the rangefinder positioning to be adjusted relative to the scope in 3 dimensions: Height, length, and horizontal distance from Picatinny/Weaver rail.
MOUNTING CLEARANCE:
All of the optional accessory mounts require a minimum of 0.25″ (6.5mm) of clearance between the top of the rail and the bottom of the scope to mount under the scope. Using the optional Standard Adjustable Length Picatinny Clamp, the RF-1 can also be flipped and mounted to the rail under the scope occular if other mount points are obstructed.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT RANGE:
Rangefinder height adjustment (choose between 2 MLOK female rails): 1″ (25mm)
SPECIFICATIONS:
Weight:
7 ounces (195 grams) for the mount itself without accessories
Dimensions of the base RF-1 mount without accessories:
Height: 2.8″ (70mm)
Width: 2.8″ (70mm)
Length: 4.2″ (105mm)
PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Aluminum Rangefinder Clamp
Carbon Steel Elevation & Windage Bolts
Carbon Steel Mounting Nuts and Bolts

As a former USMC sniper, I have some expertise with mounts that co-witness various sensors. I heard about this from a friend on Snipershide. After testing it on various rifles I am impressed. It can be adjusted to fit nearly any scope / rail / rifle combination. This tool really does raise the effectiveness of your shooting platform. The RF-1 has me ranging and sending rounds downrange faster. Most long range shooters could benefit from owning one.
Mounted this on an AR-308 long range rifle with a Sig Sauer 6BDX riflescope. Able to range targets now without ever looking though the rangefinder. One concern I had was whether it would be able to securely hold the rangefinder in the same place. Whether or not the rangefinder would “hold zero.” Obviously if you smash your rangefinder with a rock or a hammer, it’s going to move around and probably not going to work anymore. But short of impacts like this the grippy rubber on both the clamp holds the rangefinder securely without crushing or scratching it. The mounted rangefinder is properly holding zero and remaining co-aligned with the scope. Would definitely buy this again and everyone that’s seen it at the range wants one too.
This is a good piece of kit. Does what it says on the tin. One complaint I have is receiving it took 3 weeks because it was on backorder. Wish they would make a greater effort to keep these in stock. But like others have said this is a game-changer and I don’t know why it’s taken so long for someone to invent something like this. I’m a big game hunter and when you’re hunting every second counts. I can’t count how many shot opportunities I’ve missed because I couldn’t shoot fast enough. This cuts the amount of time it takes after spotting the target to taking an ethical shot by maybe 1/3 to a half. I’d say buy it if you’re a big game hunter.
I received one of early engineering samples which I offered to test in exchange for feedback. The bolt that came with it was a little too large for my weaver rail. The company immediately sent out a different nut and bolt that fixed the problem. Rest easy if you have a weaver rail as the problem is fixed on the newer units. Great customer service.
I love this
Good quality.
